Drawing a Window

Shows step-by-step how to draw a window.

Before you begin

You want to insert a window into a wall of your drawing.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Discipline Architecture ➤ Planning type 3D - Model planning / 2.5D - Model planning ➤ Create tab ➤ Command group Windows, Doors

Procedure

If necessary, click the triangle symbol next to the button Window <.
Enter the dimensions for the Width, Depth and Sill of the window, or pick the respective dimension from the drawing by clicking the button .
If necessary, select the Frame and/or Sill options if these elements are to be drawn in as well.
Click the button Window <.
Click on a point on the wall where the window is to be inserted.
The program will search for the nearest corner point. This is displayed with an elastic connection to the crosshair.
Enter the value for the distance to corner point and confirm with Enter.

Note: The position of the window sill and stop depends on which side of the wall you click.

Results

The window has been drawn into the wall.
