Entering a Roof Area <

Shows step-by-step how to enter a roof area.

Before you begin

You want to enter a roof area to complete the building structure.

Note:

First define the roof area and then generate the walls. Thereupon, the walls will be adjusted correspondingly and be shortened or chamfered. After having generated the walls, the roof areas may not be deleted. Otherwise the automatic building detection and the data transfer to LINEAR Building will not work correctly.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline ArchitecturePlanning type 3D - Model planning / 2.5D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group Room and Building Contours

Note: To enter a roof, the roof areas and roof slopes must be entered one after the other.

Procedure

  1. Click on the button Enter roof area <.
  2. Click the first point for which the height is known (P1).

The Height at contour point dialog opens.

  3. Enter the absolute height (referred to the origin) or the relative height (referred to the upper edge of the floor of the current storey) and confirm with OK.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for contour points P2 and P3.
  5. Click the fourth point P4.
Note: The Height at contour point dialog does not open again because the level on which the roof area is located has already been defined with three points.
  6. Click the right mouse button and select Close in the context menu that opens or, alternatively, enter S in the command line.

The roof area will then be displayed as an orange surface.

  7. Proceed in the same way with the opposite roof area.

Results

After defining the roof areas, the three-dimensional room contours and the building outline have already been adjusted.

Then start the Generate walls command and enter the windows and doors.
