Edit Item Lists of Layout Templates for Assembly Plans
Shows step-by-step how to adapt item lists to layout templates for assembly plans using the functions of the Component lists dialog.
Before you begin
You want to customize item lists from layout for assembly plans according to your needs.
Requirement:
A drawing is opened with the components that have the parameters to be used in the item list.

Procedure
- Make sure that the model area of the drawing is active and click on Component lists .... Tip:
Before opening the dialog in the drawing, you can select components of the component classes whose parameters you want to use in the item list. This reduces the amount of data that is loaded into the component lists.
The Component list dialog opens.
- In the Component classes area, open the component class groups whose components you want to list in the item list.
- In the Parameters area, select the parameters that you want to display in the item list. The selected parameters are transferred to the table below.
- Optional: Customize the structure of the table using the context menus of the individual column headings. Tip: The Component lists dialog is not modal and therefore does not need to be closed in order to continue working in the program.
- Switch to the Plot / Print command group and click on Configure assembly plan .... The following query opens:
- Click Yes. The file MontageVorlagen.dwg, which contains the layouts for the assembly plans, is opened. The following message appears:
- Click OK.
- In the model and layout tabs area of the AssemblyTemplates.dwg file, switch to the tab of the layout whose item list you want to customize.
- Click on Update table in the Component lists dialog and then select the item list that you want to adjust in the layout. The item list is being updated.
- If necessary, adjust the display and position of the item list.
- Save the AssemblyTemplates.dwg file and close the drawing.
- Close the Component Lists dialog.
Results
You have adapted the item list of a layout for assembly plans to your needs.
To add further parameters to the item lists, you must switch to a drawing that contains components with the desired parameters and click on Create new in the component lists. The parameters are then available in the Component lists dialog.
