Making General Settings
Shows step by step how to define general settings for calculating potable water pipe networks.
Before you begin
You want to make sure that all parameters are set correctly before the calculation.
Navigate to

Procedure
- In the Component Detection area, decide whether Modeled Dimensions should be transferred during detection, not transferred, or only transferred for a selection.
- On the Calculation Parameters tab, specify the desired calculation method and building type.
- Enable the option Calculate ejection time if you want to use the calculation to determine the output times for hot water consumers.
- If necessary, adjust the parameters for calculating the ejection time.
- Deactivate the option Detect Material with every Calculation if, for example, you have a large project and want to reduce the calculation time.
- On the tab Dimensioning, activate the option Always Dimension Decreasingly if pipe sections in the direction of the tapping point are to be dimensioned with equal and decreasing dimensions.
- If necessary, activate Consider Usage Units if usage units have been assigned to appliances and these are to be taken into account.
- Check the values for the maximum velocities of the different pipe types in the upper right-hand corner of the tab and adjust them if necessary.
Results
The basic settings for the calculation have been made and are now taken into account during the calculation.
