Unrestricted

All entries that are possible for the underlying data type are permitted. This means, for example, that you cannot enter an integer value for a text parameter.

Value Range

Allows you to define a value range for the underlying data type. Enter the upper and lower limits of the value range in the two input fields and use the checkboxes to specify whether the limit values entered are included in the value range. Limit values can also be defined using formulas. If necessary, you can also include other parameters in the formula.

: Opens the Formula Editor dialog box for defining the limit value using formulas.

Tip: With the Formula Editor, you can also easily define a check of actual/target-value-parameters, for example, by assigning the target value parameter as a valid value range to the actual value parameter and, if necessary, adding a tolerance. (Lower Limit: [Name of the Target Value Parameter]*95%, Upper Limit: [Name of the setpoint parameter]*105%)

Pattern

This function is only enabled for text parameters. It allows you to define patterns with regular expressions (regex) and thus check the entered character strings for the underlying data type. You can enter a regular expression directly in the input field, save it in the Select Regex dialog for further use or use one of the predefined regular expressions from the Select Regex dialog.

three-dot button: Opens the Select Regex dialog, where you can find predefined regular expressions for the definition and create additional expressions.

Value list

Allows you to define the definition of permitted values for the underlying data type.
