About the Synchronization

Explains the concept of synchronizing parameters between LINEAR Building and AutoCAD or Excel room data sheets.

During building detection or an update, calculation-relevant information is transferred between LINEAR Building and the connected CAD in LIN parameters. As the parameter values can be defined both on the CAD side and in LINEAR Building, it is necessary to control the direction of synchronization of the parameters.

Since it is also possible for data to be adjusted on both sides during synchronization between LINEAR Building and Excel room data sheets, it is also necessary to control the direction in which the individual parameters are synchronized.

In the Synchronization section of the Configuration of LINEAR Building, you can specify for each parameter whether and in which direction the respective parameter should be written when the building is detected or updated or synchronized with an Excel room data sheet. When detecting buildings from AutoCAD, you can also decide whether the topography present in the model and the specifications of the currently selected standard for interpreting component dimensions should be taken into account.

Once you have adjusted the synchronization settings to suit your needs, you can save the configuration and thus store exactly the configurations required for different use cases. If necessary, you can also set one of the configurations you have created as the default for all relevant workstations, for example.
