Creating 2D Images (Flatshots) of Viewports as Freely Placeable Blocks

Shows step by step how to create 2D images (or flatshots) of viewports in a layout as freely placeable blocks.

Before you begin

You want to create a 2D image (flatshot) of viewports in a layout as a freely placeable block so that you can then place the block in your project.

Requirement:

The layout with the viewports from which you want to create a 2D image is open.

Note: Since creating images can take a long time for very large drawings with many objects, it is recommended that you limit 2D image creation to a section of the drawing if necessary. Canceling the image creation is possible at any time using ESC.

  6. Optional: Click on the color field to adjust the color for the hidden lines in the Select Color dialog.
  7. Optional: Adjust the Line Type Factor (additional) to specify the desired rendering of hidden lines in dashed line styles in the 2D representation.

  8. Click Flatshot Viewport, select one or more viewports, and confirm your selection.
The flatshot consisting of simple lines is attached to the cursor.
