Details on “2D Image Creation (Flatshot)”

Information on the function 2D Image Creation (Flatshot).

This function has been optimized for converting LINEAR 3D objects. It creates 2D images consisting solely of simple lines from individual, multiple, or all viewports of a layout. The settings of the viewports, such as the layer configuration and the section planes, are taken into account. The color and line type of hidden lines can also be configured. You can use 2D images (flatshots) to share revision drawings or for plotting in 2D style (with dashed hidden edges).

Note: Since creating images can take a long time for very large drawings with many objects, it is recommended that you limit 2D image creation to a section of the drawing if necessary. Canceling the image creation is possible at any time using ESC.

Image Layout

Generates a 2D image flatshot from all viewports of a layout.

Image Viewport

Generates a 2D image flatshot from a selection of viewports in a layout.

Create new DWG

Enabled: During generation, a separate dwg file with the 2D image is generated.

Output Elements

Select whether only the visible elements, only the hidden elements, or both should be considered when creating the image.

Hidden Lines

Use the two drop-down lists and the color field to set the line style, line weight, and color of the hidden lines. Using the additional line type scale factor, fine adjustments of the line display are possible.

Line Factor (additional):

The line type factor controls the rendering of dashed lines and is calculated automatically during creation of the 2D image (flatshot). You can use the factor to fine-tune the rendering of hidden lines. The default setting is 0.25. Multiple decimal places are possible.
