Details on "General Building Unit Data"

Information about the section General Building Unit Data on the tab Heat Load on the building unit level in the calculation method ISSO 51 (2023) and 53 (2018).

In this area, you define basic settings for the selected building unit level.

Tip: Set the setting for the Building unit in the Building section of the Building data (Project level (building structure)General).

Temperature of the Building Unit in Unheated Condition

Calculate temperature theta_b according to annex F.2:

The temperature Theta_b is used to calculate the transmission losses of the building components adjoining this building unit.

Enabled: The temperature for unheated state is calculated according to Appendix F.2 and the input field for the temperature is deactivated.

Disabled: The input field for the temperature is activated and the entered temperature is used for calculation.

Building Type, Building Unit Type

Type of Building:

This option is only active if you have selected mixed buildings in the building data at project level. From the drop-down list you can select the building type that applies to this building unit. The selected building type determines the calculation standard ISSO 51 or ISSO 53 for the respective building unit.

Building Unit Type:

This drop-down list becomes active when you have selected a multi-story building at the project level under General heating load data in the Ventilation → Infiltration section. Depending on the selected building unit type, different infiltration factors are used to calculate the infiltration.

Heat Transfer System

If this building unit has a different heat transfer system than the one set at project level, you can set the heat transfer system for the building unit here. The heat transfer system influences the temperature correction factors for ceilings, walls and floors.

Temperature Correction through Time Constant

Building Mass:

Here you define the building mass of the currently selected building unit. If a different selection than equal to building mass is specified, the time constant is calculated for each building unit as for an independent building.

Outside Temperature Correction (Time Constant):

Depending on the selected building mass, a correction of 0 to 4K is applied to the outside temperature.

Standard / Corrected Outside Temperature:

Depending on the selected building mass, 0 to 4K is added to the outside temperature. If on the project level in the Climate Data for Netherlands section the checkbox Temperature Correction (Time Constant) (4 K) is activated and the selection of the building mass requires a correction, the corrected outside temperature is displayed here. Otherwise, the standard outside temperature is shown at this point.

Proportion of Mechanical Ventilation:

Select from the drop-down list the proportion of mechanical ventilation of this building unit that should be included in the calculation of the time constant.
