Welding Pipes Together

Shows step-by-step how to connect pipes by welding them together.

Before you begin

When starting the drawing process, you want to connect the new pipe to be drawn with another pipe by welding them together.

Requirements:

The material used to draw the pipe must be weldable.

Initial Situation:

Procedure

  1. Activate the Pipe < command.
    Note: If you start the command for the first time, you can specify Start Data for material, operating pressure and other settings in the subsequent dialog. In pipe networks, the Start Data dialog appears for each new pipe.
  2. Right-click in the drawing area during the drawing process.

  3. Click on the menu item Welding....
  4. Select the pipe you want to create a welded connection to.
  5. Determine the position of the pipe to be welded by left-clicking or by entering the distance to the nearest pipe end.
  6. Then specify the installation direction by clicking in the desired direction in the drawing area.

    The Start Data dialog opens.

  7. If necessary, make settings for component dimensions, pipe material or insulation and confirm with OK.

Results

The two pipes have been welded together.
