Details on "Lock/Unlock Pipe Sections"

In this dialog, you can lock and unlock certain parameters of pipe/duct sections or trench sections (Discipline District Networks) for the calculation, e.g. the drawn dimensions of the pipe network.

If you use the drawn dimensions of the pipe network for the calculation, the dimensions of the pipe/duct sections or trench sections are locked after the calculation and are not changed by the dimensioning. If you do not apply the modeled dimensions in the calculation, the dimensions of the pipe/duct sections or trench sections are optimized for the given design criteria.

If you have adjusted pipe/duct section or trench section lengths, you can use this function to restore the drawn lengths for different areas of the network or for the entire network.

Depending on the selected discipline, you can lock and unlock additional parameters in the dialog, such as the design type or specific limit values.

Lock Section

Drop-down list for selecting the area for which the selected parameters are to be locked or unlocked.

Locks the dimensions of the pipe/duct sections or trench sections in the selected area. The calculation ensures the required supply to consumers, e.g., by adjusting the pump pressure and flow velocity.

Unlock

Unlocks previously locked nominal diameters and resets the values of the active parameters to the defaults from the Basic Conditions dialog. If you have adjusted maximum R values, velocities, or simultaneity values in the Pipe/Duct Section Settings dialog, you can reset the adjustments in this dialog. In the calculation, the supply to consumers is ensured by adjusting the pipe dimensions in compliance with the specified basic conditions.
