Details on "Car Parks" (Room Level)

Information on the Car Parks section on room level of the Ventilation module in LINEAR Building.

In this area, you define the room-specific settings for determining the required air volumes for rooms in non-residential buildings based on the calculation method VDI 2053-1 Car Parks (12-2014). Values conforming to the guidelines are stored as default values.

“Car Parks” Section on Room Level in the Ventilation Module of LINEAR Building

General Room Data

The room number, the room name and the room temperature for the heating or cooling mode are displayed on the left-hand side, which you can adjust as required. Depending on the module, you can use the button to the right of the room temperature to open the Temperatures dialog, in which you can select the temperature variables stored in the master tables and create new temperature variables.

The area resulting from the clear internal dimensions and the clear internal dimensions of the room are displayed in brackets in the right-hand area.

: Opens the Room Data dialog in which you can adjust the parameters of the room.

Car Park

Drop-down list for specifying the car park to which the room is assigned. Car parks must be created at project level. After assigning a car park, a car park section is automatically created for the room. For car parks for which Aggregate Calculation is activated at the project level, the car park section table is deactivated.

If necessary, use the Room Selection for Car Park dialog to assign several rooms to a car park at once. At project level, click the button in the Rooms/Room column in the row for the corresponding car park to open the dialog.

Table of Car Park Areas

In order to accurately determine the distances traveled by the vehicles, the car parks must be divided into car park sections, unless the car park is to be calculated on a flat-rate basis. Car park areas can be, for example, the individual parking decks, the parking rows of a parking deck or certain sections of parking rows. The room must be assigned to a car park in order to create car park sections. Car parks are created at project level. If Aggregate Calculation is activated for a car park at project level, the car park section table is disabled.

In the table, you create the individual car park sections and enter the values required for air volume determination. Click in an empty row of the table or use the F5 key to add car park sections. Use the F6 key to remove selected car park sections from the table. The number of parking spaces, the entry and exit routes into and out of the car park and the route along the parking spaces must be specified for each car park area. The entry and exit routes do not include routes that lead through other car park areas, as these routes are defined separately in the Routes through other Car Park Areas dialog. Open the dialog by clicking on in the S column.

By clicking you have the possibility to copy the contents of the table with or without column heading and paste it into Excel.

If you have selected individual rows or cells, you can copy the selected data with the key combinations Ctrl+C (with column heading) or Ctrl+Shift+C (without column heading) and paste it into Excel, for example.

Column Description
Name Defines the name of the car park area.
z_SP

Number of Parking Spaces

Defines the number of parking spaces in the car park section.

s_Entry

Length of Car Park Entrance

Specifies the length of the route from the car park entrance to the first parking space in the car park.

This route is usually the same for all car park sections. However, in the case of car parks with multiple entrances, for example, the entrance routes for the individual car park sections may vary. In order to enable correct calculation in such cases, the distance is specified at the level of the car park sections.

s_Exit

Length of Car Park Exit

Defines the distance from the last parking space in the car park to the car park exit.

This route is usually the same for all car park sections. However, in the case of car parks with multiple exits, for example, the exit routes for the individual car park sections may vary. In order to enable correct calculation in such cases, the distance is specified at the level of the car park sections.

s_ParkingSpace

Distance along the Parking Spaces

Defines the length of the way along the parking spaces of the car park section.

CS

Route through other Car Park Sections

Clicking on opens the Routes through other Car Park Areas dialog, in which you can define the entry and exit routes through other car park areas for the respective car park area.

V_outside_warm

Outdoor Air Volume Flow, Warm

Displays the required outside air volume flow of the car park area, which is necessary due to the carbon monoxide emissions of the incoming traffic with warm motors.

V_outside_cold

Outdoor Air Volume Flow Rate, Cold

Displays the required outdoor air volume flow rate of the car park area that is necessary due to the carbon monoxide emissions from exiting traffic with cold motors.
Note: The emissions from exiting vehicles are calculated with a distance-independent minimum value for calculated driving distances of less than 80 m, because the carbon monoxide emissions for these short distances in the car park are largely determined by the cold start process.
V_outside

Total Outdoor Air Volume Flow for Car Park Section

Shows the total required outside air volume flow of the car park area, which is the sum of the two volume flows V_outside_warm and V_outside_cold. Related concepts
