Dynamic cooling load
            calculation (ASHRAE)

You have the choice to determine the real temperature or the operative temperature (windchill factor). The intuitive interface provides direct access to all necessary input dialogs and results. The buttons and tooltips indicate the already made entries and calculation results. This gives you a perfect overview at all levels (project, floor and room),

The direct link to a choosen locations and its weather information the direct and indirect sun influences are calculated, which have effects on thebuilding surface and enter through the window into the room. The specific wall characteristics are entered as usual whereby the geometry, thermal conductivity, density, thermo-optic properties of a building material and the specific heat capacity are related. For windows the total energy transmittance and the internal and external shading are considered in addition. Each wall is considered from the in- and outside. The influence of air temperature, sun influence, internal heat exchange and convective processes are calculated.

With the shading editor you can create different external shading situations. This configuration can be saved and assign to multiple windows. The shading is three-dimensionally shown in fast motion as a simulation film. With the mouse you can control the viewing angle to the window and look at it from all sides. All changes in the outer solar protection are directly visible in this shading simulation. In addition to the internal loads such as lighting, machinery, equipment and people and the mass flow rate and the infiltration of outside air or air from adjacent rooms can be considered.

At each level (project, floor, room) you can define an individual usage profile over the course of 24 hours. Already predefined profiles are also supplied. These usage profiles can be assigned to internal loads, in order to define their operating hours.

Simulated shading

With the shading editor all shadings can be simulated. From simple overhangs until a variety of complex exterior shades - check their effectiveness in a time lapse.

The results of the cooling load calculation can be visualized in detail and show the loads in a 24-hour profile.

In addition to the normal liNear Building possibilities usage and temperature profiles can be created per stage of construction, storey and apartment, which will be used by the containing rooms.

Enveloping surfaces and internal loads

Enveloping surfaces and internal loads. can be defined for each room. The enveloping surface in the form of walls and windows with their respective physical properties determine the storage and delivery of heat as well as the timing of the influence in the room. The internal loads can be provided in detail with their own load profiles and define the exact ratio of radiative to convective heat delivery.

Project data and boundary conditions

The first step of a project: define the boundary conditions. Here you use local place and climate data as well as the global utilization and temperature profiles. Taken from the delivered data or created by yourself.

Certified components catalog

The detailed design of system components such as radiators and panel heating and cooling, domestic ventilation systems, etc. based on real products leads to complete parts lists for the compilation of tender documents.

Direct connection to your CAD program

liNear Building as well maintains a constant dialog with your drawing solution. Interfaces to AutoCAD and liNear Desktop (including CADinside versions) or REVIT enable efficient working. The dimensioned products such as radiators or panel heating are automatically supplied to the drawing program where they are implemented graphically. By this means you may perform the calculation on the basis of your drawing as well as transfer the dimensioned products from the calculation to the drawing – a winning team.

Flexible building detection

The detection of the building is usually performed per room and may optionally be carried out automatically either in tabular form, CAD-based, or via the liNear Desktop AddOn Building Manager. Building models created in Autodesk REVIT may be imported directly via the Building AddOn Revit Interface. Thus, manual detection effort is no longer required!

Complete U-value calculation

You may calculate and understand the U-value easily. The temperature profile may be displayed graphically as well via an image of the wall construction. Whenever U-values are edited, the corresponding calculations are automatically updated.

Same modell for all certificates

Whether heat load, cooling load or domistic ventilation is concerned, liNear Building is the suitable program for you. A single data model for all modules enables you to save considerable time. Cumbersome double entries are history.
