About Linking Revit Walls with Customized Layered Components in LINEAR Building
Explains the concept of linking Revit walls with user-defined layer structures from the master tables in LINEAR Building during the building detection.
Basics
If you have created user-defined shift structures in the master tables of LINEAR Building, you can link walls from Revit to these user-defined shift structures using the shared type parameter LIN_BA_COMPONENT_KEY when detecting buildings. When determining loads in LINEAR Building, the thermal properties of the user-defined layer components from the master tables are used for linked components.
Preparations on Revit Side
The architectural office assigns a unique alphanumeric value to the walls of the architecture in a type parameter for each wall type; the designation of the parameter must be communicated when the architecture is transferred to the MEP planning. Before the building is detected, the architecture parameter is mapped to the LIN_BA_COMPONENT_KEY parameter in the LINEAR Parameter Management in order to make the values of the external parameter visible for detection. Parameter mapping is not required if the architecture office creates the shared type parameter under the name LIN_BA_COMPONENT_KEY.

In the synchronization settings of the template, the option Only Apply New Layer Structures must be set under Thermal Component Properties. If the Update All option is set at this point, the components will be linked, but the user-defined layer structure will be overwritten with the design from Revit.
