Windows are not detected in sandwich-type exterior walls

Problem

When capturing models in which the exterior walls have a sandwich-type construction, windows are not detected.

Possible cause: Modeling

The windows were modeled in the outer shell and no corresponding wall openings were provided in the inner wall layers. Exterior windows in combination with interior wall cutouts cannot be properly captured at this time, even though this type of setup looks correct in the model (see figure below, center window).

Solutions

  • If possible, model the windows in the inner shell and let them border to the outside. (see figure below, left window).
  • Leave the windows in the outer shell and construct the corresponding wall openings (see figure below, right window). To do this, use the command Architecture Openings Wall.
