About the 3D - IFC Import Workflow

Explains the concept of the 3D - IFC Import Workflow planning type.

With the 3D - IFC Import Workflow, you can create building models from IFC files in which the individual elements such as walls, windows and doors are represented as architectural objects or as solids, meshes and block references.

Building models consisting of architectural objects enable the building to be detected with LINEAR Building, which forms the basis for further calculations (e.g. heat and cooling load calculation).

Building models in which the elements are represented as solids, meshes and block references are visually correct models that can be used for further MEP planning. These models cannot be used to detect buildings with LINEAR Building.
