Entering a Room Outline
Shows step-by-step how to enter a room outline.
Before you begin
You want to generate 3D walls from a 2D template and after entering the storey outline you want to enter room outlines to define rooms. The room contour which is created via the Enter room rectangle command is used for the automatic detection of the walls.
Requirements:
You have loaded a 2D template based on which you can draw a room outline.
Navigate to:

Procedure
- Under Storeys ..., select the corresponding storey to set the correct construction height.
- Click Enter room outline <.
- On the storey drawing, pick the interior corners of the room point by point. The contour is marked with a colored line during drawing.
- Close the area by clicking the start point as the last point, by typing S in the command line or by opening the context menu with a right click and selecting Close. Note: Room outlines can also be entered as rectangles. Enter R for rectangle in the command line. Then it is sufficient to specify two opposite points to enter a room outline.
Once the area is closed, it will be highlighted in red. The room label is then attached to the cursor.
- Click to define the insertion point for the room label in your drawing. The Room data dialog opens.
- Enter the room data in the dialog.
- Confirm your entries with OK. The room label is then filled with the data.
Results
You have entered the room outline, placed the room label and entered the corresponding room data. In the same manner, enter all the remaining rooms.
